The Reflection Project
One of my goals for the end of year is to go to the beach. Patty and I were determined to spontaneously take a bus to Stilts Calatagan- lounge and reflect on what's happened in 2012 and make self promises for 2013 on a floating cottage while the sea water and breeze play as our soundtrack. Go back to the city refreshed, hopefully with clear minds by Saturday. Well, total fail! Looks like a big clunk of the population is going to spend New Years on the beach... trending(?!)
Sure, I had high hopes of being far away from the bustling city, crowded malls, overly noisy cafes with shrieking tweenies- but I did not let this crush my spirit. Thinking... thinking... thinking, I then asked Patty if we could just indulge and pamper ourselves at The Spa, get the most amazing massages, de-stress, detoxify, inhale all the minty organic oil we can, and stay as silent and still in the steam room, allow zen music to hypnotically lull us into a positive state, and later on have dinner or top it off with a coffee dessert ending. Funny thing is my lovely friend had the same thing in mind- happy me, happy her!
It had been a long time since I last visited The Spa, and after the aromatic massage (lavender oil was my choice) I came to thinking that going to Sonya's Garden is too much of an effort just to get the same experience, the only difference is you're just not around nature. The massage lasted for 90 minutes. Eyes closed I enjoyed and imaginatively traced the movement of hands and fingers that smoothly gave me my Swedish massage- every motion, pressure, and stress. It was delightfully painful but at the same time I was being freed from all the nubes in my shoulder area, so good, in my head all I could think of was Helen get those nubes out!
I didn't get the beach trip, but hey nubes are loosened, head and thoughts are more positive. I wanted to get away to honestly de-clutter thoughts, get rid of negative energy and it seems like I could have done with just the 90 minutes.
