The Land of Oz

The entire week at work I would blurt out lines from broadway songs, and the most blurted line was, "Somewhere over the rainbow...." from The Wizard of Oz, and "The sun will come out tomorrow...." from Annie. (I'm singing it as I write) I'd probably say, I sounded like I was having episodes of tourettes which made my co-worker snicker laughs, which I would respond with a fake mean look and say, ".. and.. soooo?", and which this co-worker retaliates to with the next verse in the song. So the bad is my TS way of singing, while the good is I inspire my co-worker to go on youtube.com to start listening to broadway songs too.

(Pause for commercial. Glance at my phone calling for attention, my sister posts freshly baked dark chocolate chip cookies and I just glare at it, hmmm... come here you dark chocolate cookie you...so I can munch on you... then you'd have served your purpose! Then another message pops up, "craving for some shashashashawarmaaaaaa!" accompanied with a voice message with my sister singing to "craving for some shashashashawarma.. ma .. ma.. ma.. ma.. oh yeah.. ma.. ma.. ma.. ! I laugh crazy silly. I get it, I get it already! In reality I had been thinking about naan, and shawarma, and thinking of going to either: Hossein's, Bollywood, or Kashmir. Then my trail of thoughts get disturbed my phone is ringing! Oh it's just someone trying to sell me something. Boooooo!)

Anyway, going back... yeah... I start my search on youtube for some songs, Manu Chao goes on loop for x amount of times. While listening I remember the land of Oz, then I remember my favorite installment of the movie - Return to Oz. Yes, okay so I realize disturbing, terrifying, or traumatizing for a kid like me (then I was around the age of 10-ish)  to experience the Return to Oz because of the disembodied heads, the dilapitated wheelers, electroshock therapy, a headless Mombi, and I can think of other more scenes - but ultimately I favored that movie than Judy Garland's. Okay, Fairuza Balk is no Judy Garland, my heart, my eyes, my ears, all were captured and I know, I remember I watched that movie without a blink. Yeah, I made my point, now on to what I was saying, me searching youtube and I stumbled upon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkVeKb2igrg

A yay or nay? Up to you. Home production is great, make up and costume absolutely wicked!

I'm a true blue dark 80's child, no denying it.

Oh and I can't for the life of me figure out why listening to Manu Chao on infinite loop got me to thinking of the land of Oz and it's wonderful talking and singing creatures.
